The Underground Railroad: The Lorain County Connection - Main Library
Jun 20 2013 7:00PM - Lorain, formerly known as Charleston, was also known as Stop #100 on the Underground Railroad that led from southern Ohio to the shores of Lake Erie. Oberlin may be better known as a hotbed of abolitionist activity in the years before the Civil War but Oberlin was not the only location in Lorain County that had residents who aided escaping slaves. Come to this local history program to view photos and hear about the Lorain County connection to the Underground Railroad.

Safety Awareness Class - Main Library

Each class has a $5.00 fee. The classes will be taught by Mr. Edward Yates, an instructor at the Ali Kai School of Martial Arts. Preregistration is requested. Class fees can be paid at the door.
